Title: Director of Music

Family info:

What is your role at FPCF?
My position is a compination of administrative and artistic duties.  I attend meetings, and interact with musicians.  I conduct the Kirk Choir, as well as the Kirk Handbell Choir.  I rehearse and help perform the music selected for Sunday worship.  I organize the Friends of Music concert series at FPC Fullerton.

Why FPC Fullerton?
I came to FPC Fullerton because of its long music tradition.  I have stayed at FPC Fullerton because of the wonderfully vibrant community of faith that exists here.

JUST FOR FUN:

If you had an unplanned (spontaneous) day off from work what would you do?

You could find me at the beach or on the hiking trail!

What tradition(s) in your family enhanced your spiritual growth?
Liturgy and music!  It is the way by which we corporately worship God, as handed down to us from generation to generation.  Since I can remember, I have eagerly awaited Lessons & Carols on Christmas Eve.  The majesty of the candlelight service, the solemn processions, and the joyous singing of O Come All Ye Faithful were all very formative to my spiritual growth.

If you could trade places with anyone for a day who would it be?
Anyone.  Key to our Christian faith is the empathy required to see life through the eyes of another person.

What is your bucket list (if money and time were unlimited what would you do)?

Sail to hawaii; complete a triathlon; eat at the French Laundry; create my own compost pile and organic garden; host a dinner party for 12 of the most intriguing people I know; tour the world for a year conducting concerts on all continents

What is one thing people might not know about you?
My first instrument was the saxophone
