Title: Associate Pastor, Youth & Families
Hometown: Ventura, California
Family info: Married to Liz, we have two daughters - Zoey and Regan. We have a mischievous pug named Brutis as well. Josh and Liz's parents both live in Ventura about a mile apart from each other. Liz has a younger brother who lives in Los Angeles. Josh has two brothers - an older brother in San Diego who is married with one son, and a younger brother in Santa Barbara who is married with one son, one daughter, and a third child on the way.
What is your role at FPC Fullerton? Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministry. I will be spending time with our Junior High, Senior High and Young Adults, teaching, walking beside them and telling them about our amazing God. I will also be equipping and training volunteer youth leaders and working alongside the Family Ministries Team.
Why FPC Fullerton? Great People, a welcoming environment, a church committed to Scripture, growth and faithful service to the Lord. Most of all ... God's call.
JUST FOR FUN:
If you had an unplanned (spontaneous) day off from work what would you do?
Since we are new to Fullerton there are so many options! Go to Disneyland with the family or check out one of Orange County's beaches. Perhaps search around town for the best Mexican food place and then head North to Chavez Ravine to catch a Dodger game.
What tradition(s) in your family enhanced your spiritual growth?
I think one of the greatest traditions in our family was the priority that my parents placed on attending church regularly. That was huge for me growing up and I became comfortable at church and even came to see it as a second home.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day who would it be?
Vin Scully, and I'd want his golden voice too!
What is your bucket list (if money and time were unlimited what would you do)?
Visit Antarctica, go to the Super Bowl, visit the Holy Land and as many of the New Testament cities (Rome, Ephesus, etc.) as possible, take batting practice with the Dodgers, clean out the garage, sit court side at a Laker game, and spend a month in Kauai with my wife.
What is one thing people might not know about you?
The pinkie finger on my left hand doesn't straighten out all the way. Don't know why, it's just always been that way!
