"We seek to share the story of God's redeeming love in Jesus Christ, to nurture a life-transforming faith, and to enable each family to develop a personal relationship with God and a consistent devotion to others"
-Children's Ministries Mission Statement
SUNDAY WORSHIP:
Activity bags are available for children ages 3-12 at the entrance to the sanctuary.
Nursery Care (available from 8:30 to noon each Sunday): We provide quality nursery care for infants and toddlers birth to 3 yr. old in our Little Lambs program. Our caring, paid staff is trained in infant and child CPR, plus First Aid. Nursery and preschool childcare are also provided for various church events. We utilize pagers so parents are alerted, if needed.
Story Hour: Children 4 yrs. old through Kindergarten begin with worship in the Sanctuary with parents, and are dismissed to Room 201 after A Time for Children during the worship service. They experience growing in love with Jesus through Bible stories, crafts, snacks, and caring adult leadership.
Tru: The Big God Story: Grades 1-6. Children will begin Sunday mornings in worship with their families for the praise music and "Time for Children". The children will then be released to go upstairs to experience the Big God Story. They will be seperated into small groups, grades 1-3 and 4-6 with wonderful leaders. We call this part Anticipate. We will then gather into a large group to begin our Celebrate time, with our very own Children's Praise Band - a time of Traditions, Rember Verses, and the Storyteller. After this, we Respond by giving the children 4 options, which creates space for kids to respond to the Holy Spirit. The morning ends by gathering back into our small groups for a time to Respond by discussing truths, and creatively reflecting on the lesson. The small group leaders bless each child, sending them out with a sense of peace and blessing so that they can be a blessing to their families and others.
Orange Slices:
FPC Children's Ministry has created a monthly family gathering called Orange Slices. The color Orange is very important here because it describes families as "warm hearts" (symbolized by the color RED) and the church as "bright lights" (sybmolized by the collor YELLOW). When the light of the church and the love of the family are combined, you get the color ORANGE!
Orange Slices is designed to bring families together to grow spiritually, with the help of the church (yellow + red = orange).
God has called parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their children. FPC Children's Ministry would like to help parents be the spiritual leaders at Orange Slices. We invite you to join us for our monthly gatherings, where we'll spend time together playing fun games, singing worship songs, and growing together spiritually through fun activities.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR PROGRAMS:
For children in grades K-6, they rehearse every Wednesday from 3:15-4:00pm in the Music Room. The kids will sing once a month in worship services and do a mini-musical on Christmas Eve at the 4:00pm Family Worship Serivce. Sign your child up on-line for choir - click here.
